The 4 Epices band comprising Isham Rath (lead singer), Mervin Nibourette (drummer), Tony Julie (bassist) and Brandon Agrippine (guitarist) recently put Seychelles on the map by participating in the ‘One Live Music Festival’ (OLMF) in L’Embrassure, Le Morne in Mauritius.
The band recently represented Seychelles in the ‘Jeux de la Francophonie 2017’, where they reached the final.
The OLMF remains a platform of discoveries, presenting the emerging music that are positioned in the world category. A real bargain for the public, this event offers great opportunities for artists. Figuring on the festival calendar of the region and internationally, it allows participants to play in front of music professionals from different countries and festivals.
Many countries such as Seychelles, Reunion Island, Comoros, and Madagascar among others took part in the festival to showcase their talent.
Speaking to Seychelles NATION upon the group’s return to Seychelles, Isham shared his experienced in Mauritius.
“It was a good experience for all of us. We managed to share our experience with other talented artists from the Indian Ocean. We performed for around 45 minutes, new songs which we managed to connect with the audience. After the show, people were thanking us for such wonderful performance with a different style. We brought something different, and we managed to prove that Seychelles has got the necessary elements and talented individuals to make it abroad,” he said.
He added that such concert will open doors for other local artists.
“We gained a lot of experience while representing Seychelles abroad; it will open the doors for other local artists who want to venture further afield,” he said.
