Besides the winners, all the other girls who took part in the pageant were also invited to the prize giving ceremony held at the Espace building.
Miss Seychelles … Another World 2015 Linne Freminot and her two princesses – Petra Richard and Genevieve Rene — received the majority of the prizes including Best Effort for project which again went to Miss Seychelles herself, Miss Talent which went to second princess Genevieve Rene and Best Evening Gown to first princess Petra Richard.
But apart from Petra Richard who is on an overseas sports training camp and whose father collected her prizes, not all of the other contestants turned up for the prize-giving ceremony.
The other winners Alana Barallon (Miss Personality), Angie Arnephie (Miss Photogenic), Stefanie Underwood (Miss Sports), Genevieve Rene (Miss Talent), Petra Rchard (Best Evening Gown), Stasia Lafortune (People’s Choice Award) also received a host of prizes.
Among her prizes Miss Seychelles received a return ticket to South Africa, another to Paris all sponsored by Air Seychelles, a brand new I phone sponsored by Airtel, jewelry set and dresses sponsored by Trendy’ Boutique, hotel stays at Desroches, Kempinski, Fishermen’s Cove, Ipad from Cable & Wireless, a year fitness session with a personal trainer at the Tropical Fitness Gym, balanced nutrition from X-Trim Fitness & Wellness Gym, a year membership and French lessons at Alliance Française as well as beauty products and beauty sessions from different other sponsors among numerous other prizes.
Addressing the girls, guests and sponsors principal secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune congratulated all the girls for their courage and strength in stepping forward to compete and for their steadfastness in staying the course throughout.
“I hope that the intense training you have followed during these past months will help you face the future with new confidence armed with new skills and knowledge which I hope you will put to good use,” Ms Lafortune told the girls.
She reminded the girls that today’s beauty pageants are not just about beauty but how to use their beauty for a purpose and she urged them to pursue that ideal.
“For the new Miss Seychelles, Ms Lafortune reminded her that this is only the beginning of a new, fascinating and exciting journey.
Ms Lafortune also extended heartfelt thanks to the faithful sponsors for their contributions to the pageant every year.
At the end of the ceremony Miss Freminot thanked everyone, including all the sponsors, STB (Seychelles Tourism Board) and her family for her success.
