chineseThe Seychelles Tourism Board has signed an important strategic cooperation agreement with CAISSA Touristic with the aim of providing greater support to the Chinese market.

Signing the accord was by the chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board Sherin Naiken and the CAISSA Touristic’s deputy chief executive Chen Jie.

The signing ceremony took place at the Raffles Beijing hotel in China on June 12. Present at the event which started with a wonderful medley of traditional dances by four Seychellois students pursuing their studies in China, were also chief executive of Air Seychelles Manoj Papa, the ambassador designate to the People’s Republic of China Vivianne Fock-Tave, Chancellor for the Seychelles embassy in China Christian Faure.

In her address to the 40 members of the Chinese press who were present at the event, Miss Naiken said China is definitely a market which is destined to grow bigger and significantly for Seychelles.

“Nonetheless, for us to have been able to grow this market, we needed the support from various partners. From China, we were comforted by the number of new friends we have made along the way and who have helped us in growing this cake,” she said.

“There has been so many. However, one in particular whose support has been steadfast and has grown from strength to strength has indeed been CAISSA TOURISTIC.”

Miss Naiken added that the agreement signed represents yet another milestone in this bond.

“We are committed more than ever to improve the product offerings for the market through dedicated products and services as well as promotional materials that will not only make our Chinese visitors feel at home but provide them with the right information and guidance for their trip,” she added.

Ms Naiken also acknowledged the support of its national airline Air Seychelles and the Seychelles embassy to China in this process.

Mr Chen said the two parties will now work even closer and stronger with each other to custom fit Seychelles’ products for the Chinese market and to promote the islands in China.
