The Seychelles Tourism Board has partnered with Hilton Seychelles in a social media programme that features two competitions ̶ the Facebook-based ‘ Santa in Seychelles ’ (https://business.facebook.com/SantainSeychelles2015) and Instagram-based ‘ Seychelles Santa ’ which ran on both Instagram accounts https://www.instagram.com/visitseychelles/and https://www.instagram.com/hiltonseychelleslabriz .
The competitions aimed at increasing visibility on social media and reward followers during the festive season via collaboration with a valued partner.
In the first of these competitions, which ran from December 1-28, 2015 followers were asked to register for the competition and then post a letter to the Facebook page explaining why they deserve a holiday to Seychelles and a stay at the Hilton Northolme Resort & Spa.
A total of 96 people signed up to take part, generating a reach to an audience of 24,600 people.
This competition’s prize was a return airline ticket to Seychelles from any Air Seychelles destination and a three-night stay at the Hilton Northolme Resort & Spa.
Nazim Hussain from Qatar was declared the winner of this competition for his letter which received over 2600 likes.
The second competition, Seychelles Santa, which was launched during the first week of December 2015, offered a prize of a two-night stay at Hilton Labriz Resort & Spa for which those who took part were asked to follow @visitseychelles on Instagram and then share or screenshot the competition poster on their personal Instagram page. In this instance, the winner was Aline Dhabi from Abu Dhabi.
The Seychelles Tourism Board’s e-marketing manager Vahid Jacob said these competitions are the first of many which will be done in 2016 to increase the visibility of Seychelles online and create engagement on our social media platforms.
He also echoed words of thanks to all those who took part in the two competitions and congratulated the winners.
