bakaThe Art Festival activities could not have come to an end without a good laugh, for those who love comedy or theatre Joseph Sinon (PATOUSTOUS) had a special play for the audience.

A night full of laughs were one could appreciate a piece of a stand-up comedy, small theatre sketch, and a little surprise of a Mr Universe competition.

Talking with the man behind the show himself a few days after the concert, Joseph says that  ‘The show was a success, everywhere I go people ask me when are you going to repeat the show?’ Joseph told us that the show will be repeated due to high public demand. They are working on a date and the venue. The show is a play about life itself; about things that goes on in our everyday life and in the society. You will get the opportunity to laugh, but at the same time learn something about the importance of life. There are plenty of lessons that have been taught in that show,” says Joseph Sinon.

He added ‘that the show has also become a success with the continuous support of the National Art Council and the Ministry of Culture’. The Minister for Youth, Sport and Culture, Ms Idith Alexander, the Principal Secretary for culture, Ms Benjamine Rose amongst other officials was also present.

2bakaThe night was illuminated by artist such as Verna Mondon, Vincent Isaac, Richie B Flore, Elijah, and Braddy who entertained the crowd with a wide range of sketches.

Winners of the creole festival ‘Moman Kreativite’’ from primary to post-secondary also got the chance to demonstrate their talent to the crowd.

Joseph says that ‘with this show where tickets has sold out, proves that there is a lack of comedy in the country, it shows that there are a lot of people who are fans of theatre, and this push him to make his project become a reality. A project which he has been working on for a while now, where he wants to produce his own actor and have a comedy concert every weekend.’
